Someone just told me that it is Bismuth that makes the Bare Minerals products make your face itch. Is there any other make-up out there that has just as good coverage without the itchiness??Is there any mineral make-up out there without bismuth?
Being a professional makeup artist and having tried so many brands and mediums of makeup I can help you narrow this down and make your own choice. Here is a list based off my experience and expertice and why..........
1) No to Drugstore brands (loreal, maybelline, revlon, neutrogena etc.)........They are loaded with chemicals (including bismuth oxychloride- which is not a mineral but a metal that has been processed with tin and copper, it is well known to cause itching, rash and acne) that can aggravate your skin and break you out. Due to these unneeded chemicals and fillers they also leave your skin looking powdery, cakey, strange and dull and with time will make for an overall unhealthy complexion
2) No to bare escentuals..........this is one company who has waaaay to much hype, most of the time it's from people who have never used anything else so they haven't tried anything better. Bare escentuals uses Bismuth oxychloride which is bad for your skin. (as stated above.) they are also not truthful as they say no preservatives yet they use chemical parabeans in their mineral veil and other formulas. They also use cheap fillers like cornstarch and that is the main ingredient in their mineral veil. Their makeup wears off by midday and looks very greasy and shiny.
There are many great mineral companies out there that do not use bismuth oxychloride, I have chosen the one I use after much research looking for purity, absence of chemicals and preservatives, adhesion(how long it stays on) and overall finish (how it looks on)
I use Faerie Organic Minerals a company based near chicago, I really can't say enough good about it. Heres a few reasons I choose them above others....
1)They are natural, no preservatives, no chemicals, cheap fillers or binders, NO BISMUTH OXYCHLORIDE
2)they are good for your skin, they help exsiting skin conditions like acne, roseaca, sensitive skin due to the zinc oxide and boron nitride
3) the ingredients they use are listed on the safety cosmetic database http://cosmeticdatabase.com and rate as very safe for your skin and health
4)their minerals are lightweight, airy, natural looking, blend easily, cover redness, acne etc very well and best of all last all day and leave a dewy glow (most companies lack somewhere in this list)
5)They are more affordable than most mineral brands
6)you can get a free sample kit to try first. It comes with 2 foundations, sheer veil (oil absorber) and bronzer
I am sure I am forgetting some additional pluses but you probably getthe idea. This was my choice based on my experience and expectations. I do recommend getting the free sample kit though. http://www.faerieorganic.comIs there any mineral make-up out there without bismuth?
Yes there are mineral makeups that dont have bismuth in it. I have sensitive skin %26amp; bismuth makes my face burn %26amp; itch %26amp; have breakouts. I tried Bare Minerals %26amp; Loreal before finding out bismuth was not good for my face.
Check out Physicians Formula cosmetics. Theres no bad ingredients in this makeup. Plus~ Its not expensive %26amp; easy to find in most drug stores or stores like Target, Walmart, etc.
Here are some brands that dont add bismuth~

I have tried a bunch but my fave is still bee luscious its the only one I got lots of compliments on how my face was ';celebrity'; flawless and what was using.
Yes. The Liquid Minerals by Bee Luscious are free from bismuth, oils and talc. SO no clogged pored or itchy skin. Plus they sell samples for like $3 on their web-site.

What is the best brand of mineral make-up for women?
There are so many to choose from I have combination skin a highly oily t-zone and dry jawline. What is the best brand of mineral make-up for women?
The best brand of mineral makeup i have to say is the original - Bare Minerals Foundation! I absolutely love this stuff. Everytime I do makeovers on my friends, I use this stuff cuz its just so versatile and works on all skintypes including combination skin. Its also oil free, non-comdegenic (wont clog pores), chemical free, scent free, and just all round great for your skin. Plus it contains sun protection and antioxidants :) Oh, and unlike other brands that come out with ';mineral foundation';, bareminerals is actually 100% PURE crushed minerals. NO chemical fillers - I dunt know of any other brand that can truthfully state that they are also 100% minerals - believe me, sheercover, maybelline, loreal and physicians formula will NOT do ur skin half the justice that bareminerals could do.
And not only does bareminerals FEEL good on your skin, but it also LOOKS good. Honestly, you will be amazed at how sheer it feels and looks.
My recommendation is go to Sephora and ask their beauty artists to apply it on so that you can see for yourself how easy (it takes about 30 seconds for me to apply it) it is to make your skin look awesome.
And though the foundation is a bit pricier than the drug store brands ($36 in canada), it lasts for such a long time! Honestly, a little goes a LONNNG way. I bought mine in october, and I JUST ran out a week ago. If you buy the Bare Minerals Foundation Kit, though, you get EVERYTHING with it. For $75.00 at sephora, you get two shades of bare minerals foundation, three professional hand-crafted brushes - powder brush, kabuki brush, and concealer brush- ,their mineral veil, their bronzer, and their bare minerals oilfree skin vitamin moiturizer. Its a HUGE bargain! plus, if you dont end up liking it, you can simply return it within 60 days guaranteed. you cant go wrong
by the way, if you would like to see how easy it is to use, try this video that i found on youtube by amy04What is the best brand of mineral make-up for women?
My favorite is Bareminerals, it's a little pricey but definitely worth it. It only takes a tiny bit to cover your entire face and/or t-zone. Since you have a dry jawline, I would recommend using an oil-free daily moisturizer (Olay has the best one!) and applying your foundation after that. :)
If you want a cheaper mineral foundation, I recommend Neutrogena Mineral Sheers. It's very lightweight and comes in a portable container, perfect to just keep in your makeup bag.
I always liked ';bare minerals'; because it goes on sheer or matte, whatever you need. It really works well for all skin types. (I have combination skin too)

Can anyone tell me what is the basic difference between mineral make up nd ordinary make up?
Mineral Makeup uses fewer ingredients, which means less irritation to your skin. It's very kind to your skin. It's crushed minerals, where as regular makeup uses things like preservatives, fragrances, dyes and other things.
Check out the before/after picture (half face done) to show the great coverage. I have Rosacea, so you can see how red I am on one side, versus the excellent coverage with mineral makeup...and gentle enough for me to use!Can anyone tell me what is the basic difference between mineral make up nd ordinary make up?
Mineral makeup is better for your skin. Like the first person said, you can even sleep with it one and it wont effect your skin. It covers great and looks amazing. It is so light you can't even feel it when it's on but yet it covers. Can anyone tell me what is the basic difference between mineral make up nd ordinary make up?

Should I try Philosophy mineral make up for Sonia Kashuk from Target?
I heard both are really effective. Sonia Kashuk is 15 dollars versus 35, but Sonia Kashuk foundation requires a foundation brush (which is 20 dollars more)Should I try Philosophy mineral make up for Sonia Kashuk from Target?
I've heard okay things about Philosophy mineral makeup (I have their kabuki brush though) and I also have Sonia Kashuk brushes from Target. I really like the Target brushes, they're a really good value (especially considering how much I paid for it) and they apply minerals well.
As for the minerals themselves, I don't really suggest either brand. They don't have particularly good ingredients in them, and Philosophy is overpriced. You might want to try everydayminerals.com or lumierecosmetics.com which both sell high quality mineral makeup at low prices (around Sonia Kashuk prices).

Best mineral make up for 13 year old?
What's the best mineral make up for a 13 year old with combination skin, with a few blemishes and some pimples and uneven skin tone?
Don't tell me not to wear any, I really hate my skin.
I want something under $25...I went to the BareMinerals place at the mall and the lady showed me how to put some on but it didn't really look like it did anything? So no to that.
Any suggestions?Best mineral make up for 13 year old?
Micabella has the best mineral make up on the planet.

Sometimes you can find a kiosk in the mall with this stuff. I love it.Best mineral make up for 13 year old?
Mineral makeup often times has just as many chemicals in them as other products and not enough minerals to make them worthwhile. That being said I do use Loreal Bare Naturale all over mineral glow occasionally and love it(but not for its mineral qualities). If your skin is combination you need to determine if it leans more towards dry or oily. If oily go with oil free foundation. If dry use a moisturizing one. Cream to powder works really good with combination that is oily as it cuts shine and provides good coverage. A nice makeup foundation for teens is CoverGirl Clean Makeup. At Walmart I think you can get it for 4 - 5$. Also try to get a good concealer to touch up the blemishes and pimples before applying the foundation. Use a brush to apply the concealer so it just ends up on the blemish and not all over the surrounding skin. Don't use sponges to apply foundation. In addition to absorbing (and wasting) your foundation, sponges also absorb the oils and bacteria found on the surface of the skin. Unless you are cleaning and disposing of your sponges regularly, you could be redistributing the oil on the face, causing breakouts. Aspirin is great to heal acne and blemishes. It contains Salicylic which is a Beta-Hydroxy acid commonly used in acne treatments. Simply take one capsule, crush with a spoon and add a little water. Spot-treat as needed.
Everydayminerals is really good, and it's pretty cheap, they have tons and tons of shades of blush, face color, foundation for different skin tones, again tons of shades, eyeshadows and stuff you can use as eyeliner.
You can get a package of quite a bit stuff for I think $45 or $50, it's a good deal. But you can buy seperately.
Everything only has about 4 or 5 ingredients, they are all natural and chemical free so they are good for your skin. And you can choose different types of the foundation, for combination skin, oily, dry, normal, and one for all. They have tons of options for stuff.
I am 15 and wear this stuff, my sister who is 13 wears it too. I understand why you don't like your skin I didn't like mine at your age either but it will get better - mine was bad and then it was nearly flawless when I was almost 14.
I would defiantly suggest physicians formula mineral wear. It's an amazing line and is really gentle on your skin. It's 100% talc free(talc clogs your pores and causes blemishes and is found in most drugstore brands like Revlon, loreal ect.) It's also fragrance free, hypoallergenic and dermatologist recommended. It gives you full coverage and will even out your skin tone. It's fairly inexpensive and you can find it at most drugstores. For your skin type I would suggest purchasing the green concealer(green covers blemishes and evens out skin tone) and than applying the loose powder mineral wear. To finish apply a finishing veil. Your skin will look incredible!
P.s: Bare minerals is awful. It clogs your pores and doesn't have any coverage. I don't recommend it.
Well, first focus on your skincare to clean up your skin. Ask your mom to take you to the dermatolists so they can clear up your skin. And always use SPF whatever you do.
For the mineral makeup, if you don't like Bare Minerals, you can try Physician's Formula Mineral Wear. I use it everyday because Bare Minerals runs out kinda fast and it gets a little expensive. Mineral Wear gives good coverage of blemishes, but you should buy a stick concealer to target the pimples.
best of luck, hope i helped :-)
Revlon or Loreal make-up is great. You are young and Cover Girl products have Noxema in them. This is a clean make-up and great for a starting product. I am 48 years old and have a great complexion I started with Cover Girl. In the summer I still use Cover Girl foundations,it doesn't clog the pores. Clean your face everyday in the am and in the pm. Noxema cleaning pads are good to use after you clean with a face scrub. I would use a sun block before you apply the make up. Skin toners are good for toning the skin. I would not use any fade creams at your age they are too harsh. Girls really have problems because we are girls and our body changes monthly so does our skin. We have to constantly stay on top of it. If none of the over the counter products work, I would ask Mom to seek help for me. Mom's don't like for their baby girls to grow up so I would talk to Mom with respect yet in a mature way. Mom's are great even when you don't think Mom is listening she is. Mom is the best choice for this question and probably will give you the better advise than any of us can because she knows you and your complexion better than any of us. Big sisters are great also. Even Grandma's are great. I hope this will help you.
hmm try taking care of your skin first depending one the dammage. otherwise you'll tend to cake it on and try to hide everything. i have combination skin too but i use Clinique's super fit foundation, its OIL FREE. as for mineral powder try micabella. just experiment for a while, and you'll find whats right for you. hope this helps.

Why are most of the cosmetic companies producing ';mineral'; make-up?
What's the advantage? Why is it supposed to be so good. I have tried several brands and am not too impressed so far. Would someone kindly enlighten me?Why are most of the cosmetic companies producing ';mineral'; make-up?
As more people come to understand the toxicity of many of the ingredients commonly used in make-up, the manufacturers are developing lines without some of those ingredients, i.e. fillers, binders, preservatives, many of which are made from petroleum. They are marketed as being safer, less toxic, more natural, etc.
Those claims are true for SOME lines, primarily the small labels -- the kind you'll find in a good health food store. The term 'mineral make-up' has no regulation or legal definition -- anyone can put it on their product regardless of its content. The major manufacturers are using technologies that change the behaviour of the ingredients and also using industrial by-products, 'minerals' that aren't found in the earth.
The idea is good, but the practice often isn't.Why are most of the cosmetic companies producing ';mineral'; make-up?
Its supposibly helps the skin since it contains ';minerals'; . I;m not exactly sure how many minerals are in it, and its being said that it wont harm you if you sleep with it on because its ';Good'; for you.
However, im not impressed.
I feel like its a ploy to make more money.
Mineral makeup is suppose to be better for your skin.
I heard that mineral makeup does not irrate, or whatever the other regular makeup does, your skin.
I have not tried it because I find mineral makeup to be insanely expensive.
I think it probably clogs up your pores. I'm not a big fan of makeup and don't wear it unless we are going out at night or for some fancy occasion.
Probably they make a fortune off of the stuff. I doubt it does anything special other than captivate people with advertising.
it apparently it better for your skin but i thinks its because of the going green trend and they want to be part of it and make money off the market that want to buy more ';natural'; things to help the enviorment
it's oil-free and supposed to be better for your skinthe bees

What is mineral make-up for women?
I just heard about it today and have not idea what it is. Is it expensive. And is it just a trend or what? Please explain.
Thanks. What is mineral make-up for women?
After the research I have done over the years I have found that mineral makeup doesn't have to be expensive. I have also learned that all mineral makeup is not alike. Some have unnecessary fillers and irritants in them. Mineral makeup is best if ist is 100% pure. Mineral powder settles on the skin differently than conventional powders do, so it doesn't settle into fine lines.
I found a line that I really love called kms mineral essentials. It is all natural and it is not expensive compared to the other brands. I love that it is pure and good for your skin. What is mineral make-up for women?
its a great makeup,
which makes your skin look natural
not like clumpy foundation,
the set I looked at cost $90 but you can find cheaper ones
mineral make up can be great, and its pretty good for you skin compared to other kinds. but dont be fooled, cover girl keeps stamping the word mineral on stuff but it's not the same, they just throw some zinc into whatever they already made. bare minerals is best.
Not all mineral makeup is created the same! Bare Minerals/Essentuals use bismuth as a cheap filler. It is still a mineral but don't be fooled as it could be harmful as a lot of women have found it to cause skin irritation, acne and flaky skin. Bismuth is a form of arsenic and is a by-product of copper mining. There are MANY cosmetic companies that add this to their makeup line as a cheap way to give you a ';glow'; as bismuth is a very shiny heavy metal.
I use Bee-Luscious as it contains no bismuth, talc or oils. It is a fully breathable makeup and will stay on all day long. Look them up on Google or Yahoo.
bear minerals is 25 per container
its very good stuff.
There are many brands of mineral makeup, most notable Bare Minerals, Sheer Cover, and Everyday Minerals. Mineral makeup is better for your skin than ';traditional'; makeup because it contains pure minerals and no bad chemicals, oils, or preservatives. It usually comes in a loose powder form and most people refer to foundation as mineral makeup, but they make blushes, eye shadows, and many other colors. Price varies by brand, but I think Bare Minerals/Bare Escentuals is the best brand. Check it out at sephora, ulta, amazon.com, and bareescentuals.com.
Try puritycosmetics,co,uk. It is really good!
Mineral mekeup is like skin tone base or cover up powder
for your face it is expensive but it lets your skin breathe better than that smugy cream

Does bare naturale mineral make up by loreal make you break out?
do you like it?Does bare naturale mineral make up by loreal make you break out?
Yes they can, Drugstore brands are loaded with chemicals, cheap fillers and binders that can cause skin irritation, rash, itching and acne. Loreal uses Bismuth Oxychloride which is very well known to cause skin irritation. I am a professional makeup artist and skin care specialist, I do a LOT of high end clientele. I do photo shoots, weddings etc. I have used so many different brands of makeup and different mediums (liquid, cream, mineral) NEVER USE ANY mineral makeup with BISMUTH OXYCHLORIDE it is actually a METAL that has been processed with tin and copper. It is a skin irritant and can cause rash, itching, and in larger doses cystic acne.
Don't use Bare escentuals or Drugstore brands (Loreal, Maybelline, revlon etc..)
They are ALL about marketing (whatever you want to hear)
1)Saying NO PRESERVATIVES (very misleading) they DO use preservatives, in their mineral veils and other skincare lines
2)Saying Pure Minerals- they are not as I stated before they use bismuth which is actually a processsed metal and very cheap filler
3)Saying you can sleep in it- No dermatologist would ever recommend you to sleep in any makeup, especially ones with preservatives and bismuth
4)They use cheap fillers (bismuth, cornstarch)-more itchiness and irritation
5)They are overhyped, overpriced for what they are selling you
6)They wear off by mid day (reapply, reapply) and look pretty greasy if you have slightly oily skin (due to the bismuth, I cannot have this with photos as matte photos better)
OVERALL REVIEW- Stay away from BARE ESCENTUALS and drugstore brands especially as they look cheap cakey and powdery.
After much research on mineral makeup I now use FAERIE ORGANIC MINERALS and this is why.........
1)They ARE natural, THEY use NO PRESERVATIVES, No cheap fillers (cornstarch etc) NO BISMUTH OXYCHLORIDE
2)Their minerals STAY PUT! They last all day even in some pretty extreme heat
3) Great coverage (redness, acne, etc) light as a feather, airy, natural and yet leaves a healthy glow.
4)They use a high end expensive mineral called BORON NITRIDE (this is used in the highest end mineral brands like Jane Iredale etc)
5) Boron Nitride! It is amazing on the skin. It is known to be antibacterial (actually helps acne when your wearing it), it is skin soothing and a skin perfector and makes your makeup last all day (this is what I look for in mineral makeup)
6)They offer a FREE sample kit so you can try several colors at once (you just pay shipping-like $5.99)
7)Their colors blend wonderfully into the skin looking very natural and dewy
8)They do NOT use MICRO PARTICLES (you need to look for this as these are very dangerous to your health if inhaled and many companies use them)
9) They do no coat their products (this can also be bad for your skin and dangerous to your health watch for silicone treated or dimethicone etc- very undesirable, especially with acne)
10)They are NEVER cakey, powdery or dull like store brands which are so cheap
OVERALL REVIEW- this is the best I have used and my clientele loves it too. I know you will. http://www.faerieorganic.com
Does bare naturale mineral make up by loreal make you break out?
I totally agree! I have adrenal gland insufficiency %26amp; that makes me more sensitive to makeup. I tried Bare Minerals (what a waste of $) %26amp; it left my face burning with a rash same goes for Loreal Liquid. I have tried all kinds %26amp; can't find one that does not hurt me. Stay away from B.E. %26amp; Loreal! Report Abuse
As a professional makeup artist for over 20 years I have dealt with this problem quite often. YES it does break youout 90% of the time because of the main ingredient being Bismuth Oxychloride which by the way is a form or arsenic lead you are putting on your faceeee. Yes it clog pores and irritates the skin you will know because you will have increased itching. YOu can try this brand its bismuth free and hypo allergenic.

How do you prime your face before putting on L.A. mineral make up? Or any mineral makeup brand?
What exactly do you do to ';prime your face'; before putting on any of the make up?How do you prime your face before putting on L.A. mineral make up? Or any mineral makeup brand?
I use Bare Escentials mineral make up. They have a product called bareVitamins ';Prime Time'; foundation primer.
It works really great! It's a little pricey but a little goes a long way. 1 fl oz bottle has lasted me 4 months so far and isn't nearly done.

I just want reviews. How ';natural ';is it? is it any good?Does anyone have more information on DaVinci mineral make up?
According to this link I sent, they recently changed their name. From what I know of the ingredient some use like Bismuth Oxychloride, which can make your skin itch DaVinci uses none, which is great news to me. You can read more. I also looked up the old name,Bella Pierre, on Ebay, and they have a fair amount for sale there. Also their website is www.adavinci.com Hope this has been helpful for you!Does anyone have more information on DaVinci mineral make up?

What's a good affordable mineral make up?
I'm using a mineral make up powder now that costs $25, but money is getting kinda tight in family. I'm already applying for jobs so they won't have to pay for me, so what's a good mineral make up that's inexpensive, won't be bad for my skin and would cover up acne and blemishes? Stuff from Covergirl, Loreal etc? And also what are some good daytime make up looks? (especially with the eyes?) What's a good affordable mineral make up?
I use Physicians Formula, it works pretty well. I bought it a while ago when I had acne and found that it covers pretty well. I get the mineral loose powder, it comes with a soft brush and a neat sifter lid so it's not messy. It's cheaper than the one you're using now, it's like $10? I've used mine for a while because it lasts really long. It's great, I haven't had problems with it. When you first put it on, it doesn't look like it works, but trust me, give it 15-30 minutes to let your skin's natural oils pull the powder in, and your skin will look great.
And by the way, if you're having problems with acne, I SERIOUSLY recommend Proactiv. I know lots of people think it's not that great and it's expensive and doesn't work, but my skin felt so much softer, smoother, and it looks even. Plus, I only have a few pimples once in a while which I get rid of using their sulfur mask. Check out their website for prices. You can set the orders to how often you want them shipped to you so you won't be spending as much money.
As for good daytime make up looks, I like using peachy/bronze colors for my eyes, mascara and just my mineral loose powder and some lip gloss. Go natural! What's a good affordable mineral make up?
Physicians Formula, I have sensitive skin and this covers really well without irritating. You can get it at target and walmart for cheap and it lasts a while.
Mineral power by mabeline new york its amazing and inexpensive
I hear good things about Maybelline's line of mineral make-up.
I went to claries and found one for $7
i buy my mineral makeup from sephora. iss about $30. not too bad

How good is the ';bare mineral'; make-up?
bare minerals by bare escentuals is the absolute best make-up i've found in over 28 years. i have dry %26amp; sensitive skin, and it has improved the quality of my skin a lot. the company (traded on the stock market) developed bare minerals 30 years ago, has won several awards (elle, glamour allure, in-style, vogue, etc.), and is the only brand recommended by the national skincancer foundation, because it is actually good for the skin - so that tells you it is probably NOT orange, or itchy. btw, bismuth oxychloride is not a cheap filler, it is a natural colloidal mineral. bare minerals covers well, stays on all day long, and looks %26amp; feels completely natural. you can try it on at any ulta, sephora, macy's,or nordstrom store, to see, how you like it, before making a decision. How good is the ';bare mineral'; make-up?
I use Bare Minerals make-up. I was very skeptical at first. I wasn't sure how well it would cover and how long it would last on my oily face. However, the more I have used it, the more I like it. First, it covers pretty well. You can definitely built it up to cover quite a bit. Second, it lasts a long time. I was surprised that after a long day of teaching, it still looked like it did in the morning. :) I also feel like it controls my oil issue. I don't need to blot throughout the day anymore. Finally, I really think that it has helped my skin. I don't break-out as often as I used to, and I think it has something to do with the fact that I am not putting chemicals and other gross ingredients on my face every day. It may be a bit costly, but a little goes a long way, so it really does last a while. I'm very happy that I switched to using mineral make-up :)How good is the ';bare mineral'; make-up?
Itchy! I tried it, kinda orange and glowy and makes you itch!
Found out it's the bismuth oxychloride that causes it.
So I looked around on the net and tried some samples of some brands that don't have bismuth. My holy grail of mineral makeup is now LAminerals. I use both the Hollywood, and NoHoGlo formula. You should try it, you will LOVE it. And they don't makey you sign up for that stupid Autoshipment plan!
i use bare minerals and it is the best make-up i have ever had! Don't try the sheer cover though.. it's a scam!
its very helpful for the ones that have different colored skinand that wants a glowing look
actually
all girls look good in it
models use it all the time
I like it! It gives my face a pretty glow! But i don't believe it lived up to all the hype it gets but its still good make-up.
i use bare minerals make up. its really good! their make up is made from 100% bare minerals so its all natural. its oil free too so if you have acne, you can still use it and not get clogged pores. it costs a lot ut its totally worth it! you can get it at sephora or sephora.com
Its packed with Bismuth and cheap fillers that will clog your pores and irritate your skin. Its really just another advertising scam.
For us everyday working girls I dont think the high prices are worth it. I bought $125 of it thinking it was going to be the cure all fix all- NOT
Dont waste your money
it isnt good its fantastic i love the stuff. I have sensitive skin and i dont get spots when i use it. It doesnt feel cakey it just feels natural and you have a real glow about you. Buy it.the bees

Does sheer cover mineral make up really work?
its pretty persuading when watching the sales pitch on the home shopping channel
but has anyone actually tried it (concealer and mineral powder) for covering blemishes and scars, bad skin etc
thanks !Does sheer cover mineral make up really work?
Well I've just brought some afew weeks back and at the moment have gone back to my other foundation as I have a spot on my cheek and when I use Sheer cover It has light reflecting particles in it and actually highlight where my spot is, the concealer does work but I won't be buying it again.
It's not worth the money and also when you order if you don't cancel they send you more in 6 months and that costs 拢60, not 拢35 intro originally paid. And they just debit your account automaticallyDoes sheer cover mineral make up really work?
it's horrible!
a friend of mine uses it and it does not cover at all!
I'd go with L'Oreal Paris Bare Naturale mineral makeup. it's affordable AND covers well. I always use a primer first, though.
no! its horrible it makes your skin look very freenish yellow not good at all! i hateddd it.
it works wonders for me (:
the concealer is the best concealer i have EVER tried

Is mineral make up good for your skin?
?Is mineral make up good for your skin?
Not sure if it's GOOD for your skin, but it's far better for your skin than traditional makeup. Is mineral make up good for your skin?
I have atopic dermatitis. Sometimes just applying liquid or cream make-up can increase the flaking on my skin. Mineral make up works wonderfully and has yet to irritate my skin. It is the first ';powder'; type make-up I have ever been able to wear, so I know it is more than applying it with brushes.
omg wht a stupid question of course duh.... its the best for ur skin
its natural and improves clarity tone and texture of skin while making it glow
YES!
yes (as ive heard)

Is mineral make up better than liquid make up?
Just trying to find the best type of make up for my skin.
Also, list some reasons why it would be better.
Thanks! Is mineral make up better than liquid make up?
Being a professional makeup artist of 10 years and skincare specialist, I can tell you the reason mineral makeup is basically better for your skin is the absence of chemicals that are in most liquid foundations. Drugstore brands and makeup counter brands all use petro based products (can clog your pores, they are harsh on the skin). Some of these chemicals they use can actually bring on acne even if you never had acne before. It is called ';Chemical induced acne';. They use chemicals like propelyne glycol an agent that is used in break fluid and is not good for the skin as it can cause contact dermatitis. As for mineral makeup, most mineral makeup companies don't use any of these as their is no need as they are powder. I would stear clear of brands like Bare Escentuals, Sheer Cover, or drugstore brands as most all of them use a filler called bismuth oxychloride. This is an undesirable ingredient as it has a high allergy/irritation rating. It is known to cause itching, dryness, rash or in some cases acne. When looking for the best mineral makeup for you I suggest looking as natural as possible. I personally recommend Faerie Organic Minerals as they are the best I have found that look natural, are good for the skin, and leave a dewy glow. My favorite is their Celebrity Airbrush Mineral Foundation. I would recommend trying their free sample kit, that way you cantry before you buy. They have it here.........http://www.faerieorganic.comIs mineral make up better than liquid make up?
I love mineral make up, it's all I use. It's very easy to apply, it's not messy, it looks great, doesn't clog your pores or irritate your skin and there are so many brands that carry it now. You should definitely try the mineral make up.
Here are some brands:
Lauress
Bare Minerals
Raw Minerals
Sheercover
Loreal
I'd say so.
Mineral Makeup is also good for you skin where liquid makeup can be thick %26amp; clog your pours, which causes break outs %26amp; acne.
I use bare minerals.
We've got a bare minerals store in our mall.
%26amp; it is the most amazing makeup ive ever used.
%26amp; trust me, i've tried lots of different kinds of makeup.
(:
ingredients in liquid makeup have been known to cause cancer.
literally, the INGREDIENTS can lead to CANCER. so if youre not so obsessed with unattainable flawlessness, mineral foundation would be the better option.
omg yes it is soooo much better....not only does it make ur skin look flawless, it is less damaging to skin. it's pure formulations are safer and better for sensitive, even acne- or rosacea-prone skin
it is so much better than the liquid make up because 1 its light and 2 it covers up all the spots you want gone but at the same time it will look natural and it wont feel all caked on like the liqiud foundation
Bare Essentials is better. I use Lancome (liquid) %26amp; Bare Essentials in the winter %26amp; Bare Essentials in the summer only. Don't fort get the Mineral Veil you'll love it!
mineral is better for your skin but way more expensive
it works really good though
i use sheer cover and its probably the best make up i have
HECK NO!
i hated it it all the colors have an orange tint ,
and its so thin it wares off in like 1 hour!(bare minerals)
they say it is cause it lets your skin breath
who knows
tried it didnt like it
depends on your skin type. try it out if it works then you'll know. it does not work on me though.

Where can you find mineral make-up for dark-skinned African American women?
Bare Essentials seems to have products but not the right color.Where can you find mineral make-up for dark-skinned African American women?
I haven't tried it, but MAC usually has a large selection of shades. They're also helpful finding a shade that matches.
Here's a review for it.
http://makeupbag.net/category/product/ma鈥?/a>Where can you find mineral make-up for dark-skinned African American women?
try avon they have lots of shades.
there is also a kiosk at my local mall with tons of shades, not sure if you have one at your local mall
cover girl and most chain brands are coming out with some too.
best to try as you can to match, keep your reciept. if it's not right bring it back and try up or down a shade.
it took me 3 tries to get the right shade with avon.
you're going to have to search the sites to see the exact names of those colours and try telling them to a seller at a mall.
walmart sells it :)
exactly, i can't find my shade either...tell me when u find one...

Have you tried the new Mary Kay Mineral make up?
Do you like it? Does it cover well and stay on well?Have you tried the new Mary Kay Mineral make up?
Yes, it's great. Talk to a local consultant in your area or go to www.marykay.com and put in your zip code for a consultant. Call her and ask for a makeover. Ask her to match your foundation with the liquid foundation in a tube (i.e. 104, 202, 300, whatever). Let's say your shade is 300, then you should need to use the Ivory 2 Mineral Founation. If you go with Beige 1 Mineral Foundation, it will be darker than you like. The powder is buildable just like the tube foundation (hence may be darker than your actual skin tone if you go with Beige 1).Have you tried the new Mary Kay Mineral make up?
I was just recently at a Mary Kay party and they had us all try it. I loved it! It looks so natural and feels great on. You cant even tell its there! I would highly recommend it just talk to a consultant to make sure you get the correct shade for you skin! Hope you like it as much as i did!

Is there any mineral make up as good as Bare Minerals?
I like Bare Minerals but I might think about trying another kind too if any are as goodIs there any mineral make up as good as Bare Minerals?
i used to have neutrogena with this like built in brush thing--it was easy and quick and did a pretty good job...
but in comparison, bare minerals does such a good job [[i recently just switched about a week ago]]
i love it!Is there any mineral make up as good as Bare Minerals?
I bought some Neutrogena mineral makeup, foundation and blush to take to the gym, it comes with a built in brush. I think it looks good. I use Bare Minerals in the morning I just did not want to spill it at the gym.
god no! bare minerals is heaven! lol have you tried everyday minerals? i heard it was good and its pretty cheap.
pur mineral.....but bare mineral is the best....

What do you think about urban decay surreal skin mineral make up? ?
If BE irritated your skin, I would suggest staying away from UD's foundation. Both brands contain the filler Bismuth Oxychloride which is a skin irritant. Otherwise it could have been a reaction to any of the other ingredients. I'd say just try it out and if it bothers you again, then check the ingredients and see which ones are in BE as well, and then try and rule out any foundations with those ingredients. What do you think about urban decay surreal skin mineral make up? ?
WORKS GREAT

Has anyone tried Sheercover Mineral Make up?
I'd like it for Christmas, so is it any good?
I saw a Teleshopping thing about it, and it claimed it was pretty good.Has anyone tried Sheercover Mineral Make up?
Hi yes i have.. it's great . your face dosen't feel as heavy and it stays on pritty much all day unlike foundation .Its easy to apply ,just simple brush strokes and there are differnt shades to choose from so you can find one to suit your skin tone.Lastly any pimples or fine blemishes are hidden and make you face feel fresh and it looks great to . Has anyone tried Sheercover Mineral Make up?
Yes, it does wonders! It stays on throughout the day so you don't have to worry about ';touch ups'; :) It's very good on your skin as well...none of that gooey, thick foundation that clogs pores...and the price is affordable.
My niece uses it and she swears by it. I must admit that when she uses it hides her freckles and makes her skin tone even and gives her a natural and healthy glow.
i'm 14. I got it last year for christmas. it workes pretty well. i was unhappy with the size though.
Its great.
Its what I use.
Its just like really cheap bare minerals!
I say get it.
yeah.
I use it its really good,
and a pretty good price.
Ori i want some!! hahaa =] x
Might be getting some bare minerals for xmas me! =D

What's the difference between bare essentials mineral make up and the sheer cover mineral makeup?
please list pros and cons if you have an opinionWhat's the difference between bare essentials mineral make up and the sheer cover mineral makeup?
bare minerals by bare escentuals is the absolute best make-up i've found in over 25 years. it covers much better, lasts longer, looks more natural, and won't melt off in the heat. it may seem pricier at first glance, the foundation costs 25.00, but lasts me about one year, with daily use - that's 2.08/month, you can't even buy ';cheap'; drugstore brands for less ! bare minerals is also the only brand the national skincancer foundation recommends to their patients, because it is gentle, safe, and healthy for the skin. the only con with bare minerals is, that you start collecting all the pretty glimmers, shimmers, shadows, etc. - oh, wait, that's a pro! What's the difference between bare essentials mineral make up and the sheer cover mineral makeup?
bare minerals is more expensive but it covers way better
sheer cover isnt as expensive but it only cover a little
so if u r looking for something that really covers go 4 bare minerals but if u have nice skin but just need to look more polished go with sheer cover
Bare minerals covers and conceals a lot better than sheer cover. It is also a better match to your skin tone and they have many many shades. The only good thing about sheer cover was it wasent as expensive. But I would go with bare minerals no matter the cost.
Sheer Cover falls and flakes off your skin and they have had many, many bad reviews including a web site where there is a lawsuit pending infomercial scams something as for bare minerals they are messy and accentuate your flaws not conceal them if you truly want a fabulous foundation with minerals invest some time in searching for BEE LUSCIOUS COSMETICS liquid powder mineral foundation its an amazing product that is light yet great coverage and it does give you a truly flawless look every single application.the bees

Can you make your own mineral make up?
If so what is the ingredients and how do you do it. Is it better than make up in stores. Can you make your own mineral make up?
I know it's possible--people sell it on etsy.com, which is all handmade goods. You might want to head over there and find some and ask the makers about it--Etsyians are nice and quite willing to teach! Can you make your own mineral make up?
If I were you I would leave makeup making to the pros. I doubt you could get a good result from grinding rocks at home. Eventually that's what mineral makeup is, ground up rocks.
don't no, really don't care......

Mineral make up: miracle of health and beauty or hoax and fad?
Also, how is it about crepeing in fine lines?Mineral make up: miracle of health and beauty or hoax and fad?
I use Bare Minerals also.
I don't know about it ';improving your skins health';, but I do love it! I've used powder foundations and liquid foundations. Most powders didn't give me the coverage I wanted and sometimes looked chalky. The liquids tended to cake up in the lines around my mouth after a while, even when I only had a light layer on. I like Bare Minerals because it looks like I'm not wearing any makeup. It doesn't crease in the lines of your face either!Mineral make up: miracle of health and beauty or hoax and fad?

Best way to put on mineral make up with out the mess?
Does anyone know a trick of putting on powder mineral make up with out leaving a mess all over you and your bathroom counter?Best way to put on mineral make up with out the mess?
Make sure your hands are clean and dry.
Dip your brush in the powder, then tap in the palm (or on the top) of your hand until the powder is lightly and evenly distributed on the brush. Apply to face Then pick up excess powder in the palm of your hand.
I usually find one dip in the powder picks up enough powder for my entire face so using your other hand lets you spread the powder more evenly and not waste any.
The lid also works fine, but I use L'oreal translucent mineral powder, it comes in an easy to carry form so there is no lid (or at the least the one provided is too deep to use like that), instead I use my hand.Best way to put on mineral make up with out the mess?
Yes Ma'am. All you need to do is:
When you dip your oversized brush into the container, instead of shaking off the excess, stab your brush down into the lid. What that does is: 1. gets the excess off and 2. it dispurses an even amount of product all over your brush.
The problem with tapping is, all the product that is left goes to 1 side of the brush. When you don't realize that, you'll use the wrong side of the brush and all of your product erupts over your clothes, face, sink, etc.
Try this and see if it helps ya.
I usually tap a little of the mineral loose powder inside the lid, swirl it around and then tap the brush on the side of the lid shaking the excess powder off then move the brush in a circular motion on your face to blend in good. Thats what they do for bare minerals on the commercials it works good.

I've tried different brands of mineral make up but they seem to be making my acne rosacea flare up?
Bare Escentuals, Avon and Maybelline. I thought mineral foundation was meant to be good for problem skin?!I've tried different brands of mineral make up but they seem to be making my acne rosacea flare up?
Well maybe you should see a Dermatologist they can help you.I've tried different brands of mineral make up but they seem to be making my acne rosacea flare up?
There is a cream Darphin make called Intral redness relief recovery cream which helps reduce red and inflamed skin, there is vitamin E in it which helps hydrate your skin and something called Bran extract which firms it.
Also there is a serum which kind of has the same effect basically, it instantly relieves irritated skin and reduces redness, with grape extract it soothes and softens ur skin and again has all natural ingredients! They are expensive at round 拢30-拢40 for 30 ML but honestly Darphin is one of the best brands out there i swear by it and it is so worth buying!! you can buy it in Space nk, but im sure it could be in boots or somewhere like that if you look hard enough!
Also if your looking good make up with unbelievable coverage! Laura Mercier Silk creme foundation, its 拢35 per go, but it lasts you ages becoz its such good coverage u dont need much and gives you a lovely natural finish...and iam warning u tho once u start using it ul not go back to anything else, lol, i have got so many of my friends and family addicted. again space nk and house of Frasier!
Hope this helps.
I have been using Physicians Formula for a few years and I would not use anything else. It doesnt make me breakout or anything like that.

How do you apply the mineral make-up foundation. Just bought some from micabella.?
I bought the foundation, blush and eyeshadow from Micabella. I can not get the foundation to look like it did when they applied it. Can anyone help me out on how to apply mineral make-up.How do you apply the mineral make-up foundation. Just bought some from micabella.?
well to make sure it doesn鈥檛 cake on and look like too much, apply a moisturizing cream to your skin first, wait for it to dry, and then apply the make up.
this will make it look smoother, subtle yet noticable, and natural

What's the best over-the-counter mineral make-up?
I have some issues with acne and my skin is very dry at times. I'm ready for a change in my coverage but am clueless as what to try. Any ideas, I've heard so much talk about mineral makeup but was wondering if it's the right fit for me?What's the best over-the-counter mineral make-up?
I never tried it myself but I heard great things about Physician's Formula. What's the best over-the-counter mineral make-up?
I've heard great reviews of Physicians Formula. But I've only used everyday minerals because of it's basic ingredients with not added extra stuff. However, they only sell online so...
If I don't have that, I would use Physicians Formula.
Bare Minerals is what worked for my acne. I had very dry skin and the primer that came with the kit worked well.
Bare minerals definitely.

Does anyone else think that powder mineral make up sucks?
I mean i bought it and wasted all that cash and the powder doesnt stay its shiny it doesnt look matted! And the lasting power of it sucks and c somes off on everything. It even feels like the wind blows it off somtimes. I didnt but the cheap ones either it cost me 40 somthing for foundation and bronzer!Does anyone else think that powder mineral make up sucks?
Like all makeup, not all mineral powder is bad and not all is good.
Mineral makeup will tend to leave skin shiny, because many minerals naturally have shimmer in them.
The hype about mineral makeup being good for the skin is marketing. Talc is a mineral and has been in powders since the beginning of the industry. The beauty industry, especially makeup, is not regulated. A company can say anything they want about a product without an ounce of truth involved. There is no one that regulates it.
If you want good powders, check out these:
NYC Smooth Skin Loose Face Powder
Maybelline Shine Free Oil-Control Loose Powder
Cover Girl Advanced Radiance Age-Defying Pressed Powder
NYC Smooth Skin Pressed Face Powder
They're cheap and they work, as per a critically acclaimed independent reviewer of makeup, Paula Begouin. More money, especially in the makeup world, does not mean better.Does anyone else think that powder mineral make up sucks?
They are obviously not all the same. I've tried Bare MInerals (too shiny and made me itch cuz of the bismuth), sheer cover, arbonnes, avons, loreals, everyday minerals, and LA Minerals.
All of the ones with bismuth made me itchy, so I searched for those without it. Of the ones without it, LA Minerals Hollywood foundation is my PERFECT one! Not shiny, not itchy, mostly matte but without looking powdery. Covers great, lasts all day even if I sweat in it. Even stayed on in the pool this summer.
So maybe you just need to try some diff brands. You can get samples of LA Minerals on their webstie for like $1 and they ship em free:)

Expensive does not always mean GOOD. I personally wear mineral makeup and love it ! it has a great coverage , it does NOT blow away with wind, it is SUPPOSED to be shiny , people want a shiny/bronze look, it stays for a long time. I have used AVON mineral makeup , so try AVON brand , there is also a money-back guarantee.

Your explanation is rubbish, it doesn't even make sence.
I don't have a clue what kind of mineral powder it is and what brand.
It's meant to look natural not like paint.
I use maybelline mineral power powder foundation and I think it's really great. and it was only 10 dollars
I think its opinion. If you used to wearing liquid foundation make up then it will feel odd.
I personally love it. It gives me great coverage, looks really natural and stays on all day. Hmmm...

Does prescriptives mineral make up work well for sensitive skin and cover?
It didn't work for me but I do like Aveda inner light foundation. It is all natural but the 1 I use is liquid, they have tons of shades and it doesn't make me break out. It is medium coverage.Does prescriptives mineral make up work well for sensitive skin and cover?

What is the best mineral make-up (or other make-up) and skin care/hair products for 30+ women?
best mineral makeup hands down is bare minerals. Its amazing doesnt cake on at all, its a powder that blends in with your skin and doesnt look like your wearing anything. As for hair care I suggest ';ojon'; products. I use matrix myslef becasue i have super curly hair and they have a great shampoo made for curls but Ojon is really nice too.

What mineral make-up can i buy that can cover my moles?
i have a lot of small moles around my face .
none are risen upp. What mineral make-up can i buy that can cover my moles?
well bare minerals is the best. it works great though it is a little more expensive, but it is worth it. the best place to buy it is at ulta. there you can get 200 dollar kit for 60 dollars.
http://www.ulta.com/ulta/What mineral make-up can i buy that can cover my moles?
Moles are beautiful, be proud!
But if they really bother you, try a good concealer that won't clog your pores! I use an amazing concealer that's light and fluid from M.A.C. Cosmetics! I think you'd like it a lot.
The best mineral makeup out there is BareMinerals. There are a lot of copy-cats like Maybelline and L'Oreal. But if I were you and were serious about this ';moley'; situation, spend that extra money to get fabulous results! Good luck and much success :)
i have moles too (i call em beauty marks cause i'm so self concious about them)
they really bug me but you can't completely cover them up with make up unless you really cake it on.
it'll look really unnatural and obvious your hiding something
so you could lightly powder them to make them less visible
I don't know you might just have to have a dermotoligist look at it. I can't think of anything that would work.
the baremineral kind that is shown on tv it works good but isnt cheap =[ lol hope this helps (:

What mineral make-up have you tried...does it work?
Almost every drug store brand has mineral make-up out now. Any of them work well? I tried Jane and it didn't do much for me. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! What mineral make-up have you tried...does it work?
Loreal Bare Naturale Mineral Powder. I Love it!What mineral make-up have you tried...does it work?
Mary Kay Mineral Powder Foundation. After using Bare Eccentuals fot 2 years I tried MK and made the switch. It has more coverage and stills feels great on your skin. I loved it so much that now I sell it. You can visit my web site and order it from there, there is also mineral eyeshadows, powders, and blushes. 20% Discount for trying it out. Plus it is actually less expensive that the other brands. Hope you love it as much as I do.
try beihr (i have no idea how to spell it!) it works really well and it doesnt even look like you are wearing anything! just try something that suits you, different people, different makeup. you'll find something though!!!! good luck then!
No... No... NO.....
Go to sephora.
But the Bare Minerals. A lil Pricey but it works so good.
I figure with the avon, jane and cover girl knock offs. TRUST ME I'VE TRIED 'Em
and they felt cakey and heavy just like with regualar make-up
Just try those and they feel light and not greasey or nor do they smear. I swear religously by my Bare Minerals
drug store mineral make up is crap! get Bare Minerals! i use it everyday and its ahhh-mazing! you'll never go back to anything else, trust me. you can buy it at Ulta, Sephora, Dilliards and Nordstroms!!
give it a try!
Actually the best mineral makeup I have used is bee luscious cosmetics it has been the only one that did not break me out or make me itch.
I use the bare essentials and it is great other than being expensive.
I have tried the following:
Alima
Everyday Minerals
Joppa Minerals
Lure Beauty
Pure Luxe
Lumiere
Ocean Mist
Aubrey Nicole
The only ones that worked for me were Joppa and Lumiere but they didnt have a color that matched my skin. =( My skin type is acne prone, dry-oily. The two I mentioned covered my scars pretty well, evened out my skin tone and made me look flawless. the other ones caked on me...
I tried Bare Minerals first, I liked it for the most part but needed a bit more coverage with a natural look... Tried ColoreScience and absolutely LOVE IT!! On top of looking soooo natural (like you're not wearing makeup at ALL) and having WONDERFUL coverage (for problem spots) it also did awesome things for my skin as far as helping clear it up and evening out the tone all together... I'd recommend it to ANYBODY.. .Love love love it.
I have tried bare minerals/escentuals, sheer cover, mineral essence and Kms Mineral Essentials. I prefer kms over the others because it does not contain bismuth, which is a skin irritant and a natural form of arsenic lead that many are sensitive to including myself. Unfortunately many mineral makeups include this ingredient and other unnecessary ingredients and fillers that do not make them a true mineral cosmetic. Unfortunately that is what you will find when purchasing those available in the drugstore
Kms also covered the best for me and has outworn the other products. I do not have time to touch up my makeup and with this product I don't have to. My skin looks the best it has ever been. I love this stuff!
Bare Minerals is the best :D
I've been wearing it since i ever started wearing foundation.
It's awesome it doesn't leave any foundation lines because it blends in and it covers every blemish :D

How can i keep my mineral make up on all day?
i have oily skin, so i can't really use primer, and i moisturize everyday and it only last a little bit longer then usual. is there anyway to keep it on with out it getting all cakey? How can i keep my mineral make up on all day?
get a mineral makeup made from rice powder to absorb oil, and use a primer before applying it. or, just use the makeup you have, get oil dabbing sheets, dab oil off before priming, and then apply your makeup and dab oil off throughout the day.How can i keep my mineral make up on all day?
hmm, try putting a little less on. sometimes i have to take a little off when im finished applying it. you might also just be using a crappy brand. the best ones i've used are loreal bare naturale, and bare essentials. i tried maybelline's mineral power and it came off really easily, bare minerals made me look orange, and neutragena's didn't give me any coverage. the problem might be that your sweating too much, and people fix that by putting a little bit of deodorant in their face.
i swear on this product...... its Magix from avon. its like a primer, but does so many other things.... it makes my skin look flawless, and i use minerals foundation.
its not very expensive, but works miracles!!!!

Clinique more than minerals make up and mineral make up in general?
who uses which one? have you used clinique? what do you think? i have read on the internet that you need to avoid talc and bismuth oxychloride, but it seems that they all seem to have either one or both. Does anyone with rosacea have any issues with mineral make up? There is a site which shows some random websites doing mineral make up excluding the two above mentioned items, are they worth trying?Clinique more than minerals make up and mineral make up in general?
I have used Bare Minerals for almost 2 years now. I LOVE it!!
I love how natural it is, but still gives me plenty of coverage. Liquid foundation always feels heavy, is hard to match color-wise, and can give you those bad lines.
It's perfect for me also because you can sleep in it and so many times I just am too tired or lazy to clean my face at night. It has also trained me to use moisturizer every day. Because you need to put lotion on your face before you apply your makeup I don't have a choice and now it is a great habit.
The best part though is how great my skin looks!! It has been really good for my skin. It makes my skin really healthy. Recently I went and got a facial. The woman who did the facial commented on what beautiful skin I had. Later on she asked what kind of make-up I use and I told her. She then said, ';no wonder your skin is so beautiful, that stuff is great for you!';
I will never go back to liquid foundation again.Clinique more than minerals make up and mineral make up in general?
I use Mineral Powder by Mary Kay. It's a lot cheaper than Bare Minerals but works just as well. I love it!
I love colorescience makeup, it's mineral makeup sold in plastic surgery or dermatology offices, you may be able to find it online. It has great coverage and does not irritate skin at all!!
I too love Bare Minerals. It has worked wonders for the condition of my skin. I hardly ever break out anymore (besides the occasional errant pimple, no breakouts!) Combined with their Rare Minerals Skin Revival Treatment and Rare Minerals Blemish Therapy, my skin is better than it has been in years.

What is the best drugstore mineral make up (powder)?
I have to use a prescription moisturizer or I'm flaky as sin....but the cream leaves me really shiny - since I need new make up anyways, I thought I would kill 2 birds with 1 stone....
I'd prefer a drugstore type because a) I'm unemployed and broke 2) I think its better to replace them often (since I'm prone to serious skin infections)
Thanks allWhat is the best drugstore mineral make up (powder)?
Physicians formula. I have it and I love it!
:)What is the best drugstore mineral make up (powder)?
i would suggest maybelline mineral wear....
if you have a sally beauty near you, get the mineral effects makeup by femme corture, thats what i use and you can barely tell i even have makeup on.

What is the difference between mineral make-up and organic make-up?
or are they the same? What is the difference between mineral make-up and organic make-up?
Organic make up would be made with natural substances without chemicals, pesticides, etc. Organic make up could contain plant or animal parts or ingredients derived from that.
Mineral make up is JUST made of minerals.
Neither one contains harmful chemicals, but organic make up isn't vegan, and isn't necessarily cruelty free. Mineral makeup is.What is the difference between mineral make-up and organic make-up?
I think it means in that organic make up some of the materials or ingredients in the make up were once living and mineral make up from inorganic ( nonliving ) materials.

How can i get dewy skin while still using mineral make up?
I prefer the more dewy look but the great coverage my mineral make up gives me, what are some of your recommendations? How can i get dewy skin while still using mineral make up?
I will suggest 'everyday minerals', it has 4 different formulas of mineral foundation,
some has more coverage, some gives a more matte look and some gives a more dewy look.
I hope that helps!

What is your favorite brand of mineral make-up [foundation, eye, blush] and why?
Avon cause its as good as bare minerals and sheer cover and costs less! heres a linkWhat is your favorite brand of mineral make-up [foundation, eye, blush] and why?
I agree...AVON has a great product with their new mineral make up line. I was apprehensive at first - to try any mineral make up - but after giving in I've found it has great coverage - you do not need a lot of product - it is inexpensive compared to other brands - easy to apply. What is your favorite brand of mineral make-up [foundation, eye, blush] and why?
Lili Lolo fantastic colours and luminous finish great tester sizes too so you can try different colours for a few pounds and buy the larger pots of your favorites.
I use Bare Eccentials....and I love it. It's easy to put on and I love the colors.
It looks and feels so natural. You can even sleep in it without breakouts.
i use bella pierre, its like bare minerals but less expensive, its natural looking , great coverage and it doesnt cause breakouts ( i have less to cover)
Try puritycosmetics.co.uk. It is really good!
i'm not a beauty expert, but i *hate**hate**hate* cover girl makeup. it makes my skin look orange.

Which is better mineral make-up bare essentials or mac?
I have or well had pretty bad acne for years now. Now that most of it is cleared up, I wear mineral make - up. I'm kind of wondering which is a better brand to test out next because right now i'm using Sheer Minerals and well it's ok but definately not top quality. HELP!Which is better mineral make-up bare essentials or mac?
I relly prefer MAC.
Bad if you're skin is acne prone,
better go for bare esscentuals.Which is better mineral make-up bare essentials or mac?
i love both. bare minerals looks very natural n pretty n it doenst break me out
mac looks great ...i look very polished n made up ...but it matches my skin n looks fab but i can only wear it on special occasions because i find it clogs my pores after frequent use.
so yea...i have both (i use studio fix) ...i use em depending on the occasion n mood
MAC is kind of meant for stage makeup, so its really thick and heavy. I tried bare minerals and it ruined my complexion- I became a person with millions of zits. I heard that it also did this many other women. So pick between pancake makeup or something that could break you out.
I use MAC make up and Mary Kay for cleaning skin. Believe it or not, I got more compliments when I statred using Mary Kay products. BTW.. I am not a consultant for MK.
M.A.C. fix fluid liquid make-up gives you better coverage.
hi
i will recommend Artistry essentials makeup its 100% pure mineral makeup. It鈥檚 easy to use; creates a flawlessly natural finish; and here鈥檚 the best part- it鈥檚 actually good for your skin!
http://www.makesmartchoice.com i personaly use this its amazing
hope it help
I definitely like bare esscentuals better. (from sephora). it is expensive but i think its worth it. the mac had something in it that irritated my skin, but maybe that's because it's sensitive.
personally i use M-A-C, its so good on my skin. i would go to a M-A-C store and ask to get a make over and tell the makeup artist your concerns. But i would recomment M-A-C Makeup to anyone. I LOVE IT! good LUCK!
bare essentials !!! you want quality that is the wayt to go!

Is Sheer Cover mineral make-up worth the buy, and how is it applied?
I see their commercials on TV with Leeza Gibbons, and the make-up looks really good. However, I had a problem when I ordered another mineral make-up from Avon. The powder would ';settle'; into creases in my skin and I hardly have a wrinkle! Maybe Sheer Cover is better? Any advice on using it? I moisturize my skin before applying my make-up and don't want Sheer Cover (if I buy it) to look unnatural or weird on me.Is Sheer Cover mineral make-up worth the buy, and how is it applied?
I have sheer cover and it does work pretty well. it comes with concealer and then 3 shades of mineral powder. you can mix and match the shades of powder to fit your skin tone, just brush a bit onto the inside of your wrist. after you found your shade apply a tiny bit of the concealer onto blemishes and then brush the powder over your face until it looks natural. your blemishes will disappear and it looks so natural! Is Sheer Cover mineral make-up worth the buy, and how is it applied?
i wouldn't buy it because it leaves spots on your face un covered. it was the worst make up i have ever bought.
A favorite mineral makeup of mine that works very well and is very reasonably priced is Everyday Minerals. Their products work very well and they give generous sample sizes. They also have a wide range of shades to choose from as well as several types of concealers and finishing powders. Another plus is that they don't use some of the more questionable ingredients found in other mineral makeup. I would give them a try before you spend your money on Sheer Cover.
For more information, check out this article: http://www.natural-beauty-info.com/miner鈥?/a>
I dont reccommend buying it
Both Sheer Cover and the mineral makeup from avon contain bismuth, a skin irritant. They also both contain other ingredients than minerals which make them apply differentlly than a pure mineral makeup would. A true mineral makeup is designed to set on top of the skin and not ';into'; it.
I use kms mineral essentials and love the finish and wear I am getting out of it. It is one of the few pure mineral cosmetics out there. Love it.the bees

Which line of mineral make up is best?
I want to try out a mineral makeup that will give me a more even complexion and full-coverage. Almost every line of makeup has mineral makeup so I wanted to know what is good for acne-prone/blotchy skin.Which line of mineral make up is best?
I like Bare Escentuals. However if you want more intensive coverage using less powder or more intense color, I also like Micabella. If budget is a concern then Physician's Formula is ok.Which line of mineral make up is best?
Bare Essentials, they have awesome deals on QVC too...I'd check it out...
Go for the brands that offer samples. That way you can find the perfect shade without wasting too much money. Some brands only have like three colors, which is just silly. I think you need to get a shade that is very close to your own color. I have tried Monave and SimpleJar. I am currently using the SimpleJar because their Venus Guytrap color is perfect for my skintone. Both websites sell samples and sample kits, SimpleJar is cheaper for most things. Good luck, you should enjoy mineral makeup as long as you don't pile it on too heavy!
bare minerals for powder foundation, it has nice colors that give your skin a good glow and it keeps everything looking natural.
mary-kay for liquid fondation, i have found it to blend the best and be the least dense feeling thing. Sometimes mixing it with a drop or two of water or a little bit of lotion can change the color to make it lighter and the lotion will soothe your skin.
hope this helps!
Physician's Formula is good and inexpensive. Alison Rafaele is good but fairly pricey.
I have used any name of mineral makeup that you could think of. Here is the list of some, but not all: Everyday Minerals, Jane Iredale, Bare Escentuals, Youngblood, Physician Formula, Philosophy, Sheer Cover, Loreal, Millani, Glo Minerals, and many more ... The purest one that is great in coverage and actually heals skin problems is Everyday Minerals, Intensive Formula. It looks natural and your skin will look flawless. Try everydayminerals.com and go on their blog. You can get a discount right there.
bare minerals. it evens out your face while giving u a healthy glow.
I think mineral makeup are better for your skin. I like Neutrogena. I use the sheer mineral powder and the mineral blush which I love. Physicians Formula is a good brand and so is L'Oreal. It's just a matter of finding the right color for your skin and what price range you are looking for.
Everyday Minerals is good. It's cheaper than Bare Minerals - and as good or maybe even better.

I also find that Jane is pretty decent.
I find the online store joelle*bare cosmetics to be wonderful and cost efficient. Check it out on ebay or google. It defintely is affordable and is easy to purchase online. From one user of product - not an employee.
The very best is Bee Luscious Cosmetics Liquid Powder Mineral Foundation it is the most amazing foundation I have ever used. It gives you a full coverage but drys powdery soft it will make your skin look and feel flawless its truly the most amazing product I have ever used in my life

Is there a reason to sleep in mineral make-up?
I've heard lots of people say it's actually good for your skin if you sleep in mineral make-up. I wear it and like it, but usually sleep bare faced. I think it actually has improved my skin, but is there any good reason to wear it at night? Is there a reason to sleep in mineral make-up?
no, no chemicals rr goodIs there a reason to sleep in mineral make-up?
no reason to sleep in it, but it won't harm your skin, if you happen to fall asleep watching tv. it also won't rub off all over the pillow.
wash your face.
No, it's not actually good for your skin, but not bad as other make-up types.
I would not do that
let your pores breath at night
I am sure whatever benefit might be in the make up is absorbed by your skin during the day
if you want healthy skin - clean it well in the morning and at night and use a nice light moisturizer cream (for example Garnier Fructis or Olay or Clinique to supplement you skin at night)
Its never a good thing to sleep with your mineral makeup on. I think people meant if they accidentally fell asleep in it they would not have breakouts. Its best to wash your face everyday especially to get rid of the effects of the daily environment and grime. Bare escentuals have a product that you can sleep in called rare minerals that is beneficial to the skin. But when in doubt cleanse your face.
never wear make up to bed. always wash your face before bed.

Do you find that mineral make-up sticks into fine lines?
I've just bought the new Revlon mineral make-up but it seems to accentuate the fine lines around my eyes. Is this the case with all mineral make-ups? Any solutions?Do you find that mineral make-up sticks into fine lines?
Always Moisturize your face just before you apply any mineral makeup.
You just need the tiniest amount of mineral foundation--too much will settle in wrinkles. So application is very important.
Place a small amount of foundation into the lid.
Load your bristles by gently swirling or tapping your Kabuki brush in the foundation.
Tap the excess off your brush back into the lid.
I apply a yellow concealer aroung my eyes first.
Using a circular motion, gently buff the foundation onto your entire face. Make sure to blend into your hairline and upward along your neck and jaw line.
Build your coverage. Apply one light layer at a time.
BETTER YET, visit signatureminerals.com and review their step by step photos on how to apply.
Signature does not have bismuth that is irritant for some skin.
I am, ahem, mature, and have wrinkles and laugh lines around mouth and eyes. Love mineral makeup for results I get and also ease of application. Good Luck and enjoy using it.Do you find that mineral make-up sticks into fine lines?
yes it does the best mineral makeup you can buy is bee luscious liquid minerals it never settles and always looks good!
I havent noticed with l'oreal...maybe you need to apply it a little lighter ?
True pure mineral makeup will not settle into the lines. It will lay on top. I believe Revlon's mineral makeup is not all puremineral ingredients. If you check the ingredients you might find cornstarch or talc; both settle into fine lines
I use ID Barescentuals and it does it too.
I stopped putting round my eyes and i just use YSL Touche Eclat for my eyes instead............it does a much better job.
mineral makeup is no good for me as it settles in fine lines and also made my pores look huge! it may depend on your skin type - i have combination skin!
In this case, it really depends on your skin type. If you have mature skin, you should be sticking to a liquid formula mineral make-up. If your skin is dry, a cream or liquid is best, and for normal or oily skin, the powder formulas work well.
Tailor your skincare routine to meet your needs. This will help the make-up go on smoother. If lines are your concern, use an anti-aging moisturizer with SPF in the morning, and a thicker anti-aging cream at night. Most contain collagen and caffiene that helps to plump areas with lines. Exfoliate twice a week with a mild scrub to increase cell turnover. Once your face is in good condition, your make-up will go on smoother and be less likely to settle.
If you're using a liquid formula, you may want to consider using a foundation primer before applying your make-up (Smashbox's Photo Finish Face Primer is my top pick). This helps to prep the skin, make the foundation go on smoother and last all day.
nope i havent .
are you doing the right routine though before you apply your makeup .
if you are then maybe you should try
dr feelgood by benefit.
smooths out your face :)
and i havent tried the revlon one
but i recommend the loreal one
even though the original was by i.d cosmetics and all their makeup is based on minerels
and is a 100% natural
i loved it in summer
when it was hot and my face was sweating i didnt feel like my pores where getting clogged up cause they werent:)
x
Yes i really Do find it does.
I like to use a foundation primer which is colourless and it fills those little lines before I use any other makeup.
The Muse
I used to use Bare Minerals and it did the same thing! I stopped using it. My friend is a make up artist and she told me that that stuff clogs pores. I would just try using a foundation or a powder rather than the mineral make-up. Or take a cotton pad and lightly go over your face after applying the make-up to take some excess off.
Yes all mineral ';powder'; makeup DOES accentuate fine lines and wrinkle most certain. I have seen many, many friends have all sorts of problems with powder minerals. The best is to find Liquid Minerals because they cover and makes your skin more even. The powder products is more so advertising than anything else.
No, this doesnt happen with all make-ups. I think you are using to pail of a make-up, though. Try using one with more color and get compressed makeup, not loose.

Will mineral make-up cover up severe acne and severe acne scars?
I have terrible acne and terrible acne scars and was thinking about trying some kind of mineral make-up but I wasn't sure if it would cover well. Does anyone with terrible acne and acne scars use this make-up and if so does it cover well? Will mineral make-up cover up severe acne and severe acne scars?
Oh, heavens, yes. I had severe acne for years (I'm 19 now) and though it isn't quite as bad anymore, I still break out. And on top of that I have some really awful scars on my cheeks and certain other places. I'm hoping to get laser skin resurfacing when all my acne finally goes away, because having these scars is so hard to deal with.
Anyway, I've tried several different types of makeups over the years, from liquid to pressed to loose powder, and nothing works quite as good for me as loose mineral powder in making my skin look nearly flawless. Now, as far as brands go, there are some differences you should be aware of. BareMinerals is great, but way too expensive. It's good for your skin, but you can find comparable quality in the drugstore: plus, you can use more of it and not feel so guilty about paying a huge price.
Now, which brand should you look for? After running through a few, L'or茅al was one of the first to follow in the mineral makeup explosion after Bare Escentuals became so popular. L'or茅al's Bare Naturale works great for me, and it is much less expensive than Bare Minerals. Granted, it's still the more expensive of many of the Wal-Mart mineral makeups, but the others don't really seem to stand up (I've tried Physician's formula and Neutrogena and Maybelline). This one gets the job done and leaves you with a surprisingly good complexion. Want to know what I do? Get a good small brush with firm bristles, a concealer brush. If you have the time and really want to look great, use the concealer brush in the powder and cover around the spots individually. This gives you an even better base to virtually eliminate marks.
I haven't had any problems with irritation from L'or茅al, and I suspect it might not be all 100% pure and yadda ya, but it's pretty darn close. And a word from someone who knows: if you have raised marks or indentations like I do, you might not be able to get the flawless look of someone born with perfectly smooth skin. You'll get a lovely even tone and other people will think you look quite nice, but if you examine yourself too much in the mirror you can still see the flaws. Try not to worry so much about the tiny things, though; just take care of your skin, and convince yourself that you look as fabulous as others think you do :)Will mineral make-up cover up severe acne and severe acne scars?
Definitely use Bare Minerals. I have acne and I started using that. I dont even wash it off after every use and it actually is clearing up my face. It also covers up really well. Im very strict about covering up my face and Bare Minerals (out of all things i have tried) is by faaarrr the best :) Its amazing. Also if you get the cover up try and get the mineral veil. It makes the makeup look 10 times better and makes your face really smooth and beautiful.

Does the mineral make-up really work as good as they claim it does?
I am 35 and starting to see some lines, plus I have oily skin and some acne breakouts when I'm stressed out. Will mineral make-up really make all this less visible and blend in well with my skin without looking cakey?Does the mineral make-up really work as good as they claim it does?
i use the bare minerals makeup and LOVE IT. I don't like liquid foundations because they are too heavy and they tend to look cakey on me. The minerals makeup covers really well, evens out my skin better than any foundation I've tried, and it stays on really well (i live in a very humid place and liquid makeup gets slimey and gross most summer days, but bare minerals never has). I should warn you though, you won't get the perfect look you see in the commercials, but I still love it. Yes there are a few tiny problem areas that don't ';disappear'; with bare minerals, but the makeup does make it look less noticeable. I really like how it makes me look natural, like the ony makeup I have on is some eyeshadow and mascara (if I'm wearing it). It makes me look like i have naturally beautiful skin and if were to put on some foundation/cover up I'd have movie star quality perfect skin. Plus it really did help my skin clear up because I wasn't put so much smothering, pore clogging, nasty stuff on my face. I really do love my bare minerals makeup. I've tried all sorts of makeup (even higher end expensive stuff from places like Estee Lauder, Mary Kay, Artistry, as well as the Cover Girl, Mayballene, and all that stuff) and haven't found something I've liked as much as bare minerals. Just my personal experience.Does the mineral make-up really work as good as they claim it does?
I tried that makeup it was ok it will to better for you with oily skin i have dry skin so it didn't work for me but when i get a zit you can feel it dry it up. But It did not last all day not even four hours you have to touch-up alot. I have fair skin and the 3 shades you get in the starter kit were too dark. so i had to buy and extra fair one.
I would try Neutrogena Mineral Sheers makeup first to see if you like it cause bare minerals is $$
If you're going to wear it, Don't put it over foundation like they say you can, because i used it as a powder over my foundation and it makes Ur face streaky and cakey looking if Ur gonna wear it, wear it alone
Mineral makeups work on the premise that the skin doesn't absorb topical minerals easily, and therefore does not clog pores as much as liquids. I'm almost 40 and use Neutrogena Mineral Sheers. It works better than any makeup I've tried, and I've noticed a big improvement in my breakout situation.
My ex-boss ';stole'; my bare minerals, and she can afford ANY and ALL make-up on the market, it's the best, go to sephoria to try it out!
It blends well, does NOT cake, run, or smear! By far the best make-up I have ever used, and if you tan, have freckles, you can custom match your changing skin tones!
I would really suggest buying their starter kit, a real steal, comes with the kabookie brush, and several shades to play with..all for under 60.oo!
I've used bare minerals over a year now, and had amazing results. My face looks natural with the makeup on, and they have some fantastic eye stuff, too. It really does help, you can't see that there's makeup on my face, but my color is evened out, and if I have a zit, their concealer, multi-tasking bisque, covers almost anything - they did a demo on tv once, that I saw, where it covered a huge birthmark one poor girl had, whole side of her face practically, was purple. If you want to try before you invest a fortune, go to ebay and search bare minerals - they have sample kits that are good for about a week to two weeks use, to give you a chance to try their stuff, and you can get samples of the eye shadow that will be all you need for a month for a buck or so.the bees
